Đề thi ngày 03/12/2024 - Bar Chart

The chart below shows the proportion of survey respondents that showed interest in particular sports in UK. Summarise the information by selecting, reporting the main features, and make comparison where relevant.

1. Idea cho overview

Khi viết overview cho số liệu có thay đổi qua thời gian, team academic IELTS 1984 chúng mình sẽ tập trung vào trend (xu hướng) và differences (sự khác biệt).

- Trend: Football, Swimming, và Rugby đều ngày càng trở nên được yêu thích, trong khi đó, Snooker, Tennis, và Golf trở nên ít được yêu thích hơn.

- Differences: Football là môn thể thao được yêu thích nhất ở cả 3 năm.

2. Cách phân body

Với bar chart này, chúng mình sẽ phân body theo môn thể thao, 1 đoạn cho các môn thể thao trở nên được yêu thích hơn và 1 đoạn cho các môn thể thao còn lại:

- Body 1: Tả số liệu và thay đổi của Football, Swimming, và Rugby

- Body 2: Tả số liệu và thay đổi của Snooker, Tennis, và Golf

3. Cách viết từng câu

Body 1: Football, Swimming và Rugby

- Câu 1: Tả số liệu của Football, Swimming và Rugby vào 1995.

- Câu 2: Sự hứng thú dành cho Football tiếp tục tăng đều tới mức 45% vào 2005.

- Câu 3: Trong khi đó, số liệu của Swimming đạt đỉnh vào năm 2000 và giảm còn 25% vào 2005.

- Câu 4: Rugby có xu hướng ngược lại, giảm vào 2000 và tăng lên 27% vào năm cuối

Body 2: Snooker, Tennis, và Golf

- Câu 1: Vào năm 1995, người ta thể hiện sự hứng thú khá đồng đều cho cả ba môn Snooker, Tennis, và Golf.

- Câu 2: Sau đó, số liệu của cả Snooker và Tennis đều giảm xuống 23% vào năm 2005.

- Câu 3: Số liệu của Golf khá ổn định quanh mức 25% ở cả ba năm.

4. Paraphrasing

Trong bài này, thể hiện sự yêu thích (show interest) sẽ được dùng nhiều lần, nên mình sẽ có một vài cách để paraphrase cụm này:

- public interest

- express a preference for ...

- interest levels || levels of interest

5. Sample

The bar chart compares the percentage of people interested in six sports across the UK in three different years, 1995, 2000, and 2005.

Overall, football held its position as the UK's most popular sport throughout the period. In addition, while football, swimming, and rugby experienced upward trends in popularity over the period, interest in snooker, tennis, and golf declined.

Regarding the sports with increased public interest, in 1995, football was the most popular sport, attracting approximately 40% of respondents, whereas about 23% of people expressed a preference for swimming and rugby. In the later surveys, football continued to dominate, with interest gradually rising to approximately 45% by 2005. Meanwhile, swimming's popularity peaked at around 29% by 2000, before falling to 25% in 2005. The opposite trend was true for rugby, with its figures dropping to 19% by 2000, before surging to 27% by the final year.

With regard to the remaining sports, in 1995, people expressed similar levels of interest in snooker and tennis, with respective figures of 30% and 29%, closely followed by golf's 27%. In the following years, both snooker and tennis experienced sharp declines, ending up at around 23% each in 2005. Meanwhile, golf maintained relatively stable interest levels across the three given years, hovering around the 25% mark.
