The chart below shows information about the favourite subjects of 60 students from two schools, school A and school B. Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features and make comparisons where relevant.

1. Idea cho overview

Khi viết overview cho số liệu không thay đổi qua thời gian, team academic IELTS 1984 chúng mình sẽ tập trung vào differences (sự khác biệt)

- Sports là môn phổ biến nhất ở trường A, còn ở trường B thì là craft/ drawing.

- Ngoài trừ sport và science, trường B luôn có số liệu cao hơn trường A ở mọi môn học.

2. Cách phân body

Với bar chart này, chúng mình sẽ phân body theo môn học:

- Body 1: Tả số liệu và so sánh trường A và B về các môn học ngoại khóa (non-academic)

- Body 2: Tả số liệu và thay đổi trong A và B ở các môn học thuật còn lại (academic)

3. Cách viết từng câu

Body 1: Non-academic subjects

- Câu 1: Tả số liệu của sport ở trường A (môn phổ biến nhất), lớn hơn số liệu của trường B.

- Câu 2: Craft/ drawing có xu hướng ngược lại (tức là số liệu của trường B lớn hơn trường A - làm rõ ở câu sau).

- Câu 3: Tả số liệu của craft/ drawing ở trường A, và so sánh với trường B (môn phổ biến nhất).

Body 2: Academic subjects (The remaining subjects)

- Câu 1: Tả số liệu của language ở trường B (xếp hạng nhì), gần gấp đôi số liệu của Social Science.

- Câu 2: Tả số liệu của language và social science ở trường A (có độ phổ biến tương đương nhau).

- Câu 3: Tả số liệu của science ở trường A (môn ít phổ biến nhất), và so sánh với trường B

Và có một lưu ý nho nhỏ khi viết: tên các môn học sẽ không cần viết hoa trong tiếng Anh bạn nhé. Còn tên trường (School A & School B) thì có viết hoa.

4. Paraphrasing

Trong bài này, từ "favorite subject" sẽ xuất hiện với tần suất cao, chúng mình hãy cùng nhau học một số cách diễn đạt "sự phổ biến" nhé!

Dùng Verb:

- favor STH

- prefer STH

- be interested in STH

Dùng Adjective:

- the most/ least + popular/ preferred/ favored (+N)

- the foremost choice

5. Sample

The chart gives information about the subject preferences of 60 students from School A and School B.

Overall, sport was by far the most popular subject among the surveyed students in School A, which stood in contrast to School B, where crafts/drawing was the foremost choice. In addition, with the exception of sport and science, students at School B showed a stronger preference for all the other subjects

Regarding non-academic subjects, the majority of School A students mentioned sport as their favourite subject, at 36 out of 60 students, which was around 7 times higher than the figure for School B, at only 5 students. However, the opposite pattern was seen in crafts/drawing, which was the least preferred subject in School A. There, only 4 students were interested in it, whereas a corresponding 25 students in School B favoured it the most.

As for the remaining subjects, languages ranked second in School B, as they were chosen by 18 students, almost double social science's figure, at 10 individuals. Meanwhile, School A recorded a similar level of preference for these two subjects, each attracting just about 5 students. Finally, the least popular subject in School B was science, as only 2 students preferred it, which was insignificant compared to School A's 9 students.
